Who knows!

I will tell you this for certain sure, about 3 minutes ago, I fired off an E-Mail to Mr. Phil Busardo, bringing him up to date on what has been going on here that included a link to a part of this "Ever Changing Story".

I also sent him a link to the video review by the "Professional Man" who took his name in vain during said review.

Mr. Phil is usually pretty good about replying to the rare emails I have sent him so I have high hopes that he will respond soon.

So one way or another, I hope to find out if he is or is not going to review this product.

And if he has or has not ever been approached in the first place by Ms. Chen or any other representative of Ijoy regarding the Asolo.

We shall see what we shall see!

Awesomeness!! I emailed Phil back when this illustrious thread started and he responded, basically saying he'll believe It when he tests it. He said that he was told he was bei9ng sent one,. but he said that before graecchen had told us that he would not review It..... so like everything else -"it depends on what your definition of "is" is.

At this point some people will buy the mod and test it. Hopefully post their reviews on VU. I'm done with this nonsense.

Ha! It's like driving past a train wreck. It can't be ignored. Tracking the body count is irresistible.

bahahhaha
it's like the very definition of what a marketing thread should NOT be ..
-don't make a claim that you can't readily back up
-don't make an offer you can't follow through with

But it has been a fun time

I pre-ordered Apolo earlier this week before price jumped up quite substantially. Same though process on M80, knew TC was crap but have 80w box that works for everything, at $40 fee months ago great for what it does. For the Apolo, less than 50 cents a watt and potential yet to be determined, worst case will get come out with 200w good looking, small form factor new toy. The newer higher prices I see would be worth waiting for review to justify. Thread shows top of list all the time, let's show some positive energy and maybe then the tone of thread will change. Pages of arguments based on partial info is getting annoying, give them a chance and let's see what they come up with.

And regardless of gracechen's technical knowledge, English skill, or even actual gender - I'd say it's a magnificent job for a PR person. Good impression? No, but publicity is the name of the game. God help us all if other reps begin using the same tactics.

I hate to break it to you, but they already do. Most of what isn't porn on the internet is astroturfing and product placing. Web marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry, and it doesn't play nice or clean.

If Dragger is referring to a fake persona designed to elicit white knighting as a marketing ploy, mission accomplished. gracechen might be a diabolical marketing genius that speaks perfect Queen's English with Received Pronunciation while sitting at her his keyboard and smirking at her his monitor with one quirked eyebrow.

Yeah, you're right but I don't like to think about it. <s>

Years and years ago before the internet was for casual users, I remember "product advocates" being outed on the old Compuserve forums. A sad day indeed. At least the Gracechen person makes no bones about being associated with the company.

And without this Thread, almost none here would know or hear about this device.......

So Win for Ijoy.... but its not gracechen's efforts that keep this thread on top.
Its naysayers that spam this thread that have made it of interest and in so doing , have kept this "useless" thread alive giving it more attention than gracechen could have hoped for !

I hope Ijoy can make this work.... I'd buy One !

If you do, maybe you can run a few tests so that we naysayers can get those numbers and answers we've been asking for.

I would be glad to help in any way I could...
But I doubt I would be able to please ya'lls curiosity.

See as an average Vape guy, I vape to NOT smoke.... not to say I dont dig a little of the "Hobby" aspect, but mostly its a utility type thing for me.
Like when I turn on the light switch, I dont really care if the juice comes from a coal or gas, or nuke Power Plant.... Dont know if the lines are copper, Transformers are American made... if the switch box has been inspected lately and what are the readings....
I just want the lights to come on.

So I got no fancy scopes or meters.... no breaking it down for a look inside video.....
I'd buy it cuz it suits my needs.... the rest can be someone elses hobby.

If this device can keep my kanthal coil from reaching a critical temp. and provide me with a great vape....
Thats what I care about, and that I would be happy to share.
Will I buy one just to find out ?
Of course not.... I will wait ,read reviews, watch the boards... see how it shakes out.

And at the end of the day I could care less "How" the device accomplishes it !
But thats just me......

See thats the point where we 'naysayers' feel almost a responsibility.
To know how something does what it does is a way to find the soft spots, or points of error. Ways to make sure everytime you hut the button it does what you want. It also lets you know what NOT to do as in its limitations.

It took how long to find out that you had to be within a certain parameter of kanthal? ......for it to do whatever the hell it supposedly does. (which we've established is not temp control)
And for me that parameter would be a total deal breaker.

Being a naysayer is not being an 'arsehole' its knowing enough to smell a rat and not wanting to see people get taken advantage of. God knows I wish someone beat me over the head with a lamp before I bought a a few mods including a dna40.

Being an 'arsehole ' is just genetic(and fun)-im ok with that.

Well really tho....
You cant review an item by its spec sheet alone.
Someone is gonna have to lay hands on it sooner or later, and then we will find out.

I dont believe it "Must" use this gage, or only this ohm, ect.... Until someone actualy tries it!
Look how poor the communication has been thus far, I dont expect we will know what it really does till a decent review posts their thoughts.

Almost all mods released have some type of issue....
Some more than others, some minor, some major..... I Dont expect this will be much different and time will tell.
Stomping my foot and Demanding explantions probably aint gonna make it any different.

If it works it will sell... if it dont they wont sell as many...
Tell me how thats any different than the rest of the "Prominent" mod makers and their releases.
Protecting people from buying something with their own money and free will.... No Thanks, I 'll pass !

Well, like you said in a nutshell every mod has its Guinne pigs. I've done that a few times and learned my lesson the hard way.
I have to agree and disagree with you about the spec sheet, not everything can be known; but, quite a bit can be determined -usually enough for me totally rule out certain mods.
to the build requirements-watch the videos both dirty nails and the other guy both alluded to the same thing. It appears as though in both scenarios it was NOT using temp control but something else and it only worked with a 0.5 ohm coil on 29(?) g Kanthal-something I've not used in almost two years of using rbas
Since when is asking a modder who puts up an unregistered thread questions about a 150$ mod stomping my feet? if a mod maker wants my money, I need to know what I'm buying, especially when this is running so close to what known top end tech is costing. and those companies have an open door to speak with potential customers.

It's, not information from a spec sheet. This marketer and filthy nails (who had it in hand) stated there were kanthal restrictions. Those specific details from the person marketing the mod said 0.5ohms+ and 0.3mm+ wire diameter. And we'll even mention the Harry Potter intro guy. He said it works on various gauges could be 29,30,31,32,33,34,35, and 36 gauge wire. All of which gauges are not used by MOST people any longer. So, what we have is dry hit prevention, with a big deal breaker of restrictions of wire.

Hey Budds, I just built a car that gets 250 mpg. It runs on water and you never have to replace the tires. The glovebox contains 50 $100 bills and automatically replaces what you take out. Send me $15000 and it's yours. If you want to try out a prototype, just send me $7500.

So outrageous claims don't pique your interest? You don't have any questions about how I did it?

And if you do send the money, don't contact me. I'll be back in touch with you.

Nice try.....
But if you read my posts.... going way back in this thread til now, you would see I mention that I am waiting to see how it shakes out before investing.
So produce your car, Lets have a look !

Anyone who pre orders a new tech. can expect to find "Bumps in the road".... might not be what they had envisioned by the marketing of the product.
They take a chance.... they know they may be let down, but hope for the best.
If someones all butt-hurt cuz they feel they were stung by pre ordering the Ipv, or DNA, or Smok, ect.... I can understand their concerns, but here's a thought.....
Wait till after its released, reviewed, and experienced before throwing down your money again..... Problem solved !

Or Not....
But I will, and will not judge a device before I've even seen it nor heard from anyone I trust who has.
That way I dont get Ripped off or Butt-Hurt !
But again....
Thats just me !

Keep this thread on top !

Just sayin if its raising your blood pressure because they dont respond the way You feel they should, does not mean in the end their device does not work.
So post away.... maybe they will see the light and break it down for all of us.
But you cant call me "Ol' Blue Boy", cuz I wont be holding my breath.

I see when we all see....
Dont feel special or entitled enough to find out sooner.
Carry on.....

You're supposed to wait, keep your trap shut and let other people buy overhyped junk with their own money of their own free will so you can benefit from their misfortune and not make the same mistake then claim you took the high road. See? That's much more honorable.

you right ... problem is I'm still an idealist at heart and let my hope for an honest upfront vendor override that. then get caught up in the problem solving side.
in the end the good mods sell themselves.
I went and tried the s class sxm, didn't like the gyro sensor at all.. when they gave the option to turn in off in the M class I jumped all over it.
prime example of a mod that literally sells itself. its a Chinese mod that sells like mad; because, it does what they say it will do the way they say it will do it and is built like a brick shithouse.
edit: they also have a great relationship with their customers. I preordered mine and got one from the first shipments sent to the US, because I know enough about the vendor, they didn't mess with their customers, answered questions asked and back their products.
I had an issue doing the first update, and emailed them at 0100 the day it was released, got an email back answering my questions and since then have had an ongoing dialogue with a member of their customer service team as well as getting sent DEVTEAM copies of their firmware updates.
---and I'm just a regular ole joschmo customer. I appreciate an honest upfront vendor. a company being honest and upfront with some people earns vendors customers for life.

Exactly my point !
I just find it odd that there are those here that berate this device so harshly when they have no idea what it will or wont do in the end.
Condemning things before I understand what they are not my style, but clearly this is not for everyone.

About the Mini....
Have not purchased one, but sure like its style !
Friend with a shop here had one shortly, but said the 510 was crap..... he traded it for something else, I thought he was crazy.
But it was his device, his decision..... to this day he still harps on how the "Sheeple" continue to buy that "Over priced piece of garbage" because of pure hype.
I dont share his opinion, But he has a right to it !

Be Well...........

there were several other points made but you chose to ignore them...
ie: the reason I made the comparison of this vendor to another vendor. ive not seen yihi on here; however, I'm sure they at least lurk... they made every change asked for to the s class and put it into the m class. but when I said they answered questions up front and explained what the mod does and how it works before it came to market.
no one berated that mod and several of us pre-ordered it because they were upfront, honest and the best part was: if I asked a question to the representative; and, they did not know the answer then they would tell me they did not have an answer. But, they would also say that they would find out and get back to me. Then, they followed up and got back to me the next day with an answer. They basically treated me like a customer and gave me the information that I needed to make an informed buying decision based in what was important to me. -sounds like a rather simple concept to me.

we 'berate' this device (i think that's an extreme choice of words btw) because the answers to our questions were "trust asolo" (quite informative) only to find out that most of what they said it would do..... it doesn't do or if it does only within a very limited set of variables.
the sad thing is after looking at the shady way questions were handled by the vendor when they are looking for a sale; I'm left wondering: how are they going to be after the sale?
and coming from a guy that uses a hexohm, a barebones mod designed to give just power, I could see myself buying a 200w mod that does nothing but deliver 200w. assuming it were accurate, had good battery life and cost effective.

as to your friend 'harping' on "sheeple" 'who buy overpriced garbage' from his own shop, I hope he doesn't say that to his paying customers. and if he thought the 510 was crap, he could have swapped it out through varitube or yeti. yeti was sending out a new one as soon as they saw the tracking number move for the replacement, and they paid shipping (per yihi). I'm assuming varitube did as well but don't know first hand. A good friend of mine here Is a local dealer and he had to return 1 for a customer who cross threading the battery door.

Exactly my point !

Yaaa... her broken English is all just part of the massive conspiracy!!! BUAHAHAHA!!!
Because what fluent English speaker wouldn't name their new mod the Assholo? Makes perfect sense...
But I guess it's a lot easier than admitting your little gang got publicly neutered by a lil' Chinese girl who never spoke a mean word.

At this point, if any one of you had any balls, he would apologize to @gracechen for the way you've treated her.
So I'll repeat, You're fucking cowards. She produced the video proof as you demanded. And you start whining about certifying the chemical conversion of acrolein is the definition or WTF-ever.
She beat your asses, and yer still acting like pissy little children.

She proved you wrong,
admit it and move on. THAT'S what actual men do.

That's how you get MY respect.... Keep your f%#*ing word.
In poker terms, you made a bet... she called (video)... and the only thing in your hand was your 2" flaccid dink.

Hell, I'm embarrassed for you guys.
It's time for you girls to hush now... run home to the anonymous, urine scented rapture of your mom's basements.

Gracechen 1
forum tuff guys 0

Props to you Grace! I still don't have enough info on the mod to decide yes or no. (Let's face it, nobody does.)
But I am VERY interested in a tiny dual battery mod. I hope to see it soon.

Please link the video that shows somebody setting the device to a specific temp limit then passing a cotton test, so far none of the videos I've seen have done either. Thanks.

Then feel free to explain why you feel such a need to nerdrage because some bad people said things on the interwebs.

You think Berate is "Extreme", yet reading thru this thread there are harsher things said IMHO so thats pretty rich !
We still will not know what this device will or will not do based on what has been said about it..... we will have to wait til release.
While I understand you would prefer better lines of communication, it has not happened here with this Rep, have you tried to go up the chain and see if someone else from Ijoy might be able to address your concerns ?
In the end we are all left to wonder how they are going to be after the sale..... Hope for the Best, Plan for the worst !
If what you have seen thus far leads you to not buy this device, go with your gut.

I see alot of people having issues with the iStick 50....
I have three and only once in a blue moon get a sticking fire button on one of them.
Would I buy another ?.... Yes, at a price point of 35 bucks I'll take the risk and wont be to terribly disappointed if it ends badly.
But I dont blame people that "Will never Buy eLeaf again!"..... There were problems, I get it.

DNA 40.... need I say more ?
Not the best roll out of that one, no ?
Would I ever buy one of their devices again...... Maybe, whats the price point ?
IPV 4....
Had a few issues, but the 4s fixed most I understand.
Have not seen the perfect Device yet, thats why we keep buying more...Lol !
Maybe the DNA200 will be the one.... Have you pre ordered yet ?

Sent from Sprint HK M8 Tapatalk

If i was going to view this in a similar manner to the Smok stuff, the less then 50 cents a watt factor really isn't taking into account the declining value of it's total wattage once past a certain point. I mean i've seen the Sigelei 150w go as low as $60 lately, and that has chip which likely offers a greater deal more in terms of quality and reliability then you are going to find here.

I do really like the small form factor though, enough so that i'll probably snag one once they hit regular clearance status as quickly as the M80 did.

WTF is that? She never said this mod does that! You straight made that shit up.
YOU (the royal you) have attempted to push your own ridiculously pedantic, technical definitions of TC in this thread. Hogwash.

There is no such industry accepted definition of Temp control as the utter bullshit you wrote (emphasis) above.
In fact, there are no established TC definitions of any sort!... anywhere! Period.

The truth is that each mfg (and each chip) has their own definition of TC embedded in the algorithm. We'll have 20 by Christmas.

As to nerdrage, I'll tell ya' why...
Remembering that yous' guys kinda present yourselves with this 'protectors of the community - truth in mods' personna,
I feel kinda obligated to point out your hypocrisy.
Because if you really were so truth oriented, you would have paid the bet when you lost the hand. You called her a liar, and you were dead freaking wrong.

So, it turns out that you are the one who has been dishonest. Right??? Or you would have admitted that her vid does indeed show something akin to TC. Soooo... you called her a liar, but it turns out you are the disingenuous one...

She showed me she keeps her word. You & the gang have showed me yours isn't worth a crap. ...not to mention the fact that 4 guys stroking their egos by lynching a girl who can't communicate well is some real low level shit.

...that Penguin, plus you guys've cost me a loss.
I have seen G do incredibly generous things for others in need. And I've read enough of you, G & f3 etc etc to know that you guys really DO know your shit about current and can string together
But clearly, there are things you don't know, Gracechen proved it.

And you're humiliating yourselves by continuing to pretend your abuse of that girl was justified.

Taken from the very first post in this thread claiming that the device is a temp control device:

it won't burn any coil,

Did you see the results of "temp control" on kanthal posted in this thread?

Then again earlier in the thread it was of course stated that it wouldn't pass a cotton burn test, then that it would, then that the mod didn't actually do temp control it did taste control instead, then that it did temp control again with kanthal to boot.

The fact that there's no industry standard for temp control doesn't mean that there aren't certain things that are to be expected of temp control devices, if there weren't then people would slap the term on any device if they stretched the definition enough.

Dry hit protection is one part of temp control, but it most definitely isn't the entirety of what temp control is expected to do.

The fact that you keep waffling on about Gracechen "keeping her word" makes it very apparent you're just on a white night crusade here, this entire thread is full of flat out lies and wild in substantiated claims, and has been from the very start.

But regardless of that, why do you feel such a need to jump to her defense in the first place? Is the poor little Chinese woman too weak to stand up for herself and needs you to come riding in on your glowing internet unicorn to whisk her away to safety? I wonder just how rampant you'd be in this thread if it had been started by somebody with a male avatar.

Because his posting openly racist comments isn't rampant enough?

@Shark Vape: please don't let your losing all credibilty in this here forum distract you from posting holier-than-thou commentaries.

I just hope the amp load meter displays become standard issue with more companies...Asolo will never be forgotten in doing such a wonderful option..Thank you.

I already have a device in hand that does that, I would say evolv deserves the acknowledgment not ijoy. It's not like it took a nasa algorithm to calculate the amps but elvov beat them, the DNA 200 is available, the asolo isn't.

So it looks like you have found what suits you.... Great !

:)
Where to start... the istick50 had a bad batch and eleaf is swapping those out zero questions asked.
Ipv4s plugged the hole from the inside so if that was a problem for someone, yes they fixed it and they got rid of the pablo escobar screen mirror.
The dna40.... I have 7 of those ....not a fan at all but I went through 15 boards. that board definitely has issues!!! being the first board with a new tech(äs this claims to be), its intro was great since they EXPLAINED WHAT IT DOES AND HOW a month BEFORE its rollout. its issues are primarily hardware based. the first run boards had the best refinement of the heartbeat than the following three. I had 3 preordered because of them putting out all of the info they did beforehand. finally when they took the refinement out and put in attylock it solved the problem of the third run boards by removing it. Some say the refinement issue is from a bad connection in the build but that's an argument best had elsewhere. that is another example of a company introducing a product and answering questions and explaining it before its release similar to yihi.
And why would I preorder a dna200? They are already out. to answer your question no, I have not ordered one but thank you for asking.

To compare the two 'rollouts' I would say that ijoy should have done it the way evolve did- none of us would have had an issue since that would be mean ijoy would answer all of our questions.

And yes actually I have asked to speak to other people and go through their sales department to get sent back to the info@ijoy email only to get the same responses. none of which is the point. the point is they send a rep to their customer base, yet the rep wont answer anything or get the answers. and we are supposed to just 'trust'? If they are paying someone to do that but NOT give us the info that's just shady. it should not mean I need a workaround when they are already here. That's just ridiculous
Yes' berate' is extreme..... we asked questions about a device that they came here to sell. they did not even go through the proper channels to be here. this thread is so funny in a sad way that they let it stay. A lot of the tension in here if you read from the beginning is people feeling some subconscious need to defend a person with a female picture. Or getting agitated when others ask them questions. Its the internet damnit, that could be sloth with a keyboard for all we know.

well, if it was a male in a dress he may still feel the need

Did dude get a free mod or something?
Holy crap I just saw his anger words. Lmao
@Shark Vape if you feel the need to be chivalrous, go help an old lady cross the street, or help some stranger with her groceries..... there is a real, tangible world out there with real ladies who might could benefit from your chivalry. Look, I grew up in the south with a catholic family, I get the chivalrous thing, but damnit its sales. its just questions and words. she, he or it has the right to try and sell something; and, we have the right to ask questions. trying to understand the product we are being asked to buy. the computer/tablet phone Is merely a box, with other boxes connected to it through the interwebs. For all anyone knows that could be anything or anyone typing on that box it could be a sloth for all we know. I could be 'the Rock' or 'kate Upton' for all anyone knows....i'm not but I could be
